Tomas Johnson, MA, LPC-Associate
Tomas seeks to help individuals struggling with a variety of issues such as depression, anxiety, addiction, and trauma. He is passionate about couples and family counseling and desires to help his clients build strong marriages and families.
Tomas aims to help his clients experience the grace and healing found in Christ. Accordingly, his approach to counseling seeks to integrate clinical mental healthcare into a Christian framework by addressing physical, emotional, mental and spiritual wellbeing through healthy habit building, helping his clients discover adaptive ways of responding to circumstances and exploring how wounds in the past shape current beliefs and actions. Additionally, he understands that God created humanity as relational beings and thus sees attachment and understanding relationship patterns as critical components in the healing process.
One final area of focus for Tomas is providing care tailored to pastors, ministry leaders, and their families. Vocational ministry can often be difficult and lonely, placing significant strain on leaders and those close to them. Tomas aims to provide a place where clients feel they can be honest and vulnerable about the struggles faced in ministry and help them find renewed hope in Christ.
Tomas earned his Master of Arts in Counseling from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and is currently a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-A) under the supervision of Rebecca Schall MS, LPC-S.
Tomas primarily sees clients out of the offices at Central Baptist Church in Jacksonville.
