Brent Kirkley, ThM, LMFT, LPC-S
Brent has been licensed as a professional counselor and a licensed marriage and family therapist for over 20 years. His focus is men’s issues (husbands/fathers), anxiety, and couples’ who are working on their marriages.
As a Christ follower, Brent endeavors to use Christ-centered therapeutic approaches. Brent focuses on the heart, helping clients find truth that will set them free and give them hope. He recognizes that living an abundant life involves understanding of spiritual issues as well as addressing emotional and relational issues. He believes that it is only through the working of the Spirit of God that real and lasting change is achieved.
Brent has a Master’s degree in Counseling from Stephen F. Austin University and a Masters of Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary. He is licensed by the State of Texas as a Professional Counselor and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. He is an approved Supervisor for Licensed Professional Counselor interns. Brent is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors, and is certified to administer PREPARE/ENRICH premarital and marital inventory. He has worked with individuals dealing with sexual addiction and is trained in conflict resolution and mediation.
Julie David, MMFT, LPC
Julie is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has worked in church settings for over nine years. She has a heart for helping the hurting find healing in relationship to God, self, and others. Whatever the reason for your current struggle, Julie wants you to know that there is hope for you!
Julie’s approach is distinctly Christian, incorporating Biblical principles and prayer in every session. She has experience helping teens and adults find healing from depression, anxiety, relational boundaries, self-harm, spiritual crisis, anger, divorce, trauma, grief and loss, unwanted habits, disordered eating, and marital problems. She has also worked with missionaries struggling through reentry, and premarital couples looking to build a lasting foundation. She is Prepare/Enrich certified to offer premarital couples a waiver for their marriage license.
Julie was called to counseling at an early age. She received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Texas A&M University and her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Counseling from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. She is a certified pastoral counselor and holds membership in the American Association of Christian Counselors and the Association of Biblical Counselors.
Rebecca Schall, MS, NCC, LPC Intern
Rebecca is a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern who has worked with children and adults with a variety of struggles, including bereavement, anxiety, substance abuse, and trauma. Rebecca’s desire is to help children, adolescents, and adults navigate this fallen world with the hope and redemption that comes through Jesus.
Rebecca recognizes that most behavioral problems in youth today are a normal response to abnormal and traumatic situations. She believes that healing can be found in the context of a connected relationship with one another in bearing each other’s burdens and relying on the Holy Spirit for wisdom and guidance.
Rebecca received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, both from The University of Texas at San Antonio. Rebecca is supervised by H. Brent Kirkley, LPC-S
